I have a LG vx 6100 and would like to somehow down load a specific ringtone that cannot be found onm get it now. I donot have the internet
turned on. Is there a way of getting new ringtones thru my pc and a data cable

Simply downloading a program like BitPim will allow you to send ringtones, photos and calendar stuff to your phone through a standard USB cable connection. You can get a copy of the software here...

Now keep in mind that no software is perfect and they do not guarantee the results - so use at your own risk. I can tell you I have been running the 7.22 version for 2 months now and never had an issue. Just don't unplug the phone while it's communicating. You won't get the file and you have to hack the memory to clear it - not fun!

Having just recently upgraded from my 4 year old Star Tac I was pleasatmly sureprised to find I could get a USM cable with my new 6100 and ownload all my contacts from Outlook into my phone.
This is the cable for the 6100

I think the Radio Shack has them for about $20.
Or get one off Ebay for about $7.00.
I use my Moble Office cable with the drivers, but have
another one on the way from the Ebay.
Also the Office Kit get my D600 on line fast.
