I've read all the other posts about IR connections. And I think I have stumbled upon something new. I am running Windows XP and I have set up the IR and the software from SonyEricsson. I am able to get a diagnostic from my phone through the Mobile Phone Monitor, but I am not able to get a connection. When I run the diagnostic my phone IR symbol makes the connection symbol. But when I hold the phone next to my IR port, the computer does not make a connection. It is activated on the phone. How can I fix this ?

Try reducing the transfer speed or space between devices.

Sounds like a faulty device or your software needs re-installing / updating.

Go to ADD HARDWARE in XP..select "I will search for hardware",Select "Infrared Devices"..put in XP disc when requested, where it will copy required files to Hard Drive.
When finished REBOOT.
Usually, just putting IRDA Manafacturers disc in and installing Lead drivers should be enough. If XP tells you driver is NOT Digitally Signed, try installing Win2000 version,if still no joy,try manafacturers website..Best of luck
