Ok So I got the USB cable and hooked it up, now I need the software I can't seem to find a site that would help me get the drivers and devices for the phone to speak to the computer could you help me? Also the USB cable isn't worth no $30 it's a simple web cam cable that can be bought at for $5 or less. Let me know I want this working tonight...

you could get any version from e-bay or find a friend with the CD. I can say that if you install a version (like I did of v2.11), it will update via the web to the latest. I now have 3.19 on my laptop.

David

PS. I went the "friend" route and bought the nice cable that Radio Shack has for $18 (I use mini-usb for my phone)

Hopefully the USB driver isn't copy protected. Sorry... DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THE USB DRIVER FOR THE MOTOROLA V180 PHONE? Thanks for you previous help. I just need to show to Windows ME that I have a USB Device Named Motorola V180 and then the Mobile Phone Tools software will be able to speak to it.

Let me know when you can thanks to all icon_smile.gif

Javaman,

You mentioned that you bought a cable that works with your v180 at radio shack. I've searched the radio shack page and other pages and haven't found anything that fits properly (the mini-usb cables that fit digital camera's won't fit in the V180's connector).Could you please share the model number for that cable or perhaps a link to the page on radio shack's site that has it?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate your help as I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I was in Radio Shack today. The store closest to me had three different kinds of USB cables for cameras. Only one fits, fortunately it is also the MOST common one and it is also sold at MicroCenter for a better price (hint if you go to a computer store don't look where they have the "Belkin Gold" stuff just look at the regular CVS stuff orget the slick GE kit that has a regular USB cable and FOUR adapter to go to mini-A or mini-B) ...
