If anyone has any info on USB data kit drivers I would be interested.
They guy at the Alltel store sold me a data kit for the v60c/v60i/... and said it would work for my v262. It works great on my wife's v60i but the cd does not include the drivers for the new v262 and I can not seem to find them anywhere on the net. (I looked all the way to then end of the internet then turned around and looked again on my way back. ) I called the guy and he said, "Oh yeah they just told us that the drivers for that phone where not on the cd." Well, duh the box has been sitting in your store for months/years and the phone just came out this month.
Any way, USB data kit driver info for XP/2000 on the Motorola v262 mobile phone would be great!
Here's some info on the data kit I have:
MFG Part# S8951
Alltel Part# MDASM06
Compatable: V60c/V60i/P270c/120e/T720

Same issue here. Purchased the data kit with another phone, no problem. When I just got my 262, I am having a hell of a time to get things to sync up. I'm using the t720c as this phone is supposed to be closely related...

What an irritating problem! It's obvious they haven't released the usb drivers yet. I'm going to see if I can get ahold of anyone at motorola that can help. I'll post back if I find out anything helpful.

Well I called Motorola and asked about why the drivers where not available and when I could expect them. The nice (very difficult to understand) voice on the other end simply said that the drivers are out of stock. I guess the demand for the drivers is to great for the manufacturing to keep up with. Maybe they need to build another driver factory with umpalumpas (very efficient workers).
Unless anyone knows someone at Motorola who doesn't reading answers from the computer screen or pull them from there rear ends I guess we will just have to do with out data connections on these new phones for now.

Here is the response I got from Motorola.
Thank you for contacting Motorola E-mail Support.
Regarding your concern, unfortunately the drivers for the v262 are not available yet. Motorola is working to have them available in our website as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.
Atleast we know for sure now, I'm sure it wont take them too long.

I just ordered one from Cellularaccessory.com. They charge $34.95 for the data cable and version 3.0 sofware cd which is supposed to have the drivers for the v262. I found it by going to froogle.google.com and searching for "v262 data kit"

Please post back after you receive it and let us know if you did in fact get the V262 USB drivers. Others who have PhoneTools version 3.0 say the V262 drivers aren't included.
Thanks,

Apparently the V262 drivers are only in the newest version(v.3.19e) of Phonetools. See the post at http://www.bvrpforums.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1047&highlight=v262 . If your version of PhoneTools does not include the V262 drivers, I guess you can run LiverUpdater to get them. It would be great if someone would be kind enough to post the USB drivers and provide a link.

I just purchased Mobile PhoneTools from http://www.bvrp.com. Live Updater updated it to the version that has the V262 drivers. BTW- If you purchase this software from bvrp, use the promo code tech68 and your final price will be $25 instead of $30.
I couldn't get the driver to install on my Windows 2000 computer, but it installed fine on XP.

Thanks for the tips to getting the V262 to recognize in WinXP!
I just got my 262 yesterday and the data cable today, and I've been trying to get this all working without much luck..
Finally, WinXP will see my V262 and MPT will recognize it, however I still have a problem. The Multimedia Studio item is not available for access while everything else is. The software works fine with a V300 phone and allows me to muck around in the MMS there, but not with my phone.
Any suggestions?
