theres been alot of posts on this topic, you should have done a search, but not to worry i will help you....if you have a data cable which is only 20$ at radio shack, is very easy...cheaper on ebay. i'll tell you what to do without one, but it WILL cost you 25 cents per ringer...it IS much cheaper, and you have to be able to accept pic messages (aka. have mms turned on by verizon). when your recording to your phone your volume is either turned to high, or the phone is too close to the speakers. first you mst use some sort of audio program that lets you edit the information....i use "Edit Audio" from "Nero"....then you must take your mp3 and cut it down to 20 or 25 sec. next you need to dub it down to 22khz, 48kbps, mono. it really isnt hard to do...after you have the file you attach it to an email and send it to your phone(25cents per message). send it to yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com make sure you type area code first. hope this helps

It's easy and can actually be done without a messaging fee. Once you buy the data cable (I bought the one from the Verizon store for 40$) you can download BitPim (freeware) which will allow you to interact with your phone via your computer. Follow the directions Nytroman posted to edit the song, and use BitPim to upload it to your phone. I use dBpowerAmp to rip songs from CDs to WAV format, Windows Sound Recorder (the little cheap thing that comes with the OS) to edit the song down to size, and when you import the WAV file into BitPim it will convert it to mp3 format at the bitrate of your choosing. Pretty sweet, with just a one time fee (the data cable).
