So the only way to get one of these phones unlocked is to send it into a place to get unlocked by a clip machine? What are my options.
Thanks again.
I can buy one off of ebay for around 140 unlocked. Is that a good deal?

It's that brand new? sound good to me too but i don't realy watch it closely so don't take my word for it . Reason that i loose interested in it cause of the fact that it's aeting up battery time so fast. On ebay they have remote unlock service for that fone but cost like $30 or more

If it's unlock then just pop your simcard in and use it. Unless you don't have a fone right now? and this would be your first? I'm kinda confuse

Yes this will be my first phone... I will goto a Radio shack to have them activate it to a to go plan off of the sim card I will be buying.
also when you unlock a phone, how does it keep you from paying crazy roming charges that some people are advertising?

Ok so you are going with prepaid simcard then. You can ask Tmoli;e or Cingular... for it . As far as roaming charge you have to talk to the carrier and buy what fit for your need

Hi there-
I just bought a T721 (AT&T phone on the GSM network) from someone, but I can't get my Cingular SIM card to work in it (it prompts for a subsidy code). I tried calling Cingular, but they said they couldn't help me.
Seeing as Cingular and AT&T are now one company and run on the exact same network, you'd think I'd be able to easily unlock the phone that was distributed by the company that is now owned by Cingular.
Any suggestions?
Do you have MSS 3.5.8 and PST 6.7? Do you know how to falsh and flex the fone? cause if you do then i have a upgrade pack for you to upgrading it to T720i and also unlock it.
I have a motorola v600 that I bought with AT&T. I switched to Cingular and had the same problem with my sim not working. I argued with AT&T tech service for 15 minutes with them telling me they could do nothing. The girl said that the "internal components" of my phone would work "only with AT&T service and not Cingular." After a few more lies, they transfered me to Cingular customer service. They said the same thing...that they didn't know the subsidy codes and weren't sure who knew them at their company and my phone would only work with AT&T. I was offered the opportunity to buy other similar models for several hundred dollars, and to trade in my crappy samsung free phone for another free one. I explained to them that I had spent hundreds of dollars to buy my phone without a plan less than a year ago and it is illegal to prevent me from using my own personal property and that I wasn't going to drop the issue. The tech support woman talked to her supervisor and said there is a request form that she could fill out for techs at Cingular to call me with the subsidy password within 5 business days. I had to give my full information proving I was a past AT&T customer and IMEI number off the back of my phone. We'll see what happens. No matter how much they stonewall you, don't give up. There are ways.

dejavu25.
I think with all the law sued going around and the end user(us) being aware of fone lock and all, they (Provider ) start to listen.
I think also how you present your case. With the fact that you are completting your contrac and paid for the fone they should have give you the unlock code and they did not verbally or anywhere inthe contract have mention about the fone being lock so good job there man

I have a Moto V505. I tried to unlock this phone through www.unlockmyphonenow.com, the code didn't work. They are offering to unlock it for free but I have to send them my phone. How trust worthy is this?? Is there any other way that I could get the correct code for my phone without being ripped off, or any other out of pocket expenses. The service provider that I am with is AT&T and there is no way they are giving the code out. What am I to do?? Have you heard anything about the above website?? I also found the website simunlock@cingular.COM and upon request they will give you the subsidy code, but you have to be a Cingular customer. I am not. Is there any way that I could forward my info to a Cingular customer and they could email the code to you and then you could email me the code. So, that way I would not have access to your info but you would be helping me out. is there anyone willing to help me out??
