Make sure you are using a USB port at the rear of the PC - sometimes front ports go through a hub and are not powered

Nevermind, I pulled out my voltmeter to find that the voltage across the charging pins is 0V. So I think the charger portion of the cable is either not present or is broken.

Ahhh, glad to see that I'm not the only one that know what a DVM is and how to use it...
My girlfriend had a V180 a couple of years ago, but I bought her a Razr shortly thereafter. Recently, I had to use the V180 for a few days as I have 2 (yes, 2) Razrs in for repair. While loading my contacts via MPT and the USB cable (a good one, too.), I noticed that the battery was NOT charging. I verified voltage on the cable and chalked it up simply to "the V180 don't do that".
BTW, I've always used the USB port on the side of my Toshiba Satellite with no problems. Is this the case with some computers?
