Hi, all
Has anyone else experienced that the data cable provides no charge?
Mine is a cheapie from eBay, but it claims to provide charging. I wonder if my phone could have a defect.

It is not a defect, it is the way it is supposed to work.
I suppose you could use a USB cable, with appropriate adapters, to plug into the v180's power port & suck juice out of your PC...

According to what I've read, it's also supposed to charge the phone.

It's supossed to have a plugin port on the side that allow you to plug tha fone charger cable in and charge it while you 'r working with it. But i find this more problem then help cuz the charging function interrupted the thing i want to do.

are you saying that a data cable that charges is supposed to connect to the phone in two places-- the usb port AND the power connector?

No i'm saying on the end that connect to your fone there is a slot there on the left side (atleast mine is) that allow you to connect the chager to it and so it charge while you do stop like uploade sound ect.. but it be came nasty if you use it to mod the frim or softwear of the fone cuz it keep on charging function and would not let you do anything elese

I have the same problem. I have a V300. The data cable I have has both USB data cable and charger. Drivers are installed. I can use mobile phone tools with no problem. I closed all programs. Plugged the phone into the USB. Device manager shows "Motorola USB Modem" under Modems. I'm still unable to charge. Is there a different driver I need to install for charging?

Check
SEEM 004a_0001
offset 0207 - bit 0: Disable USB charging (1 off, 0 on)
1 = Charge when plugged
0 = Don't charge when plugged

seem 004a_0001 - offset 0207 - bit 0 was already "1".
Just to try, I changed bit0 to "0" and reset phone, plugged USB cable, nothing.
Changed back to "1", plugged in USB cable, still didn't charge.
If it helps, I am running
TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.72r
SE6529AXXT11D4
I appreciate the help guys.
