prolly a fallback to ATTWS... were there was always a minimum 1yr commitment for any new account...old habits die hard

Got this off of TMO's website at the very bottom of the page, I don't know that it applies to new customers or not, but I would assume so.
"Prices exclusive to T-Mobile.com and valid only with new service activation. Get More 1500 Plan not available in Philadelphia, Houston, or Dallas/Fort Worth markets.
‡ For a 1-year contract, call 1-877-387-4324 or visit one of our T-Mobile stores."-http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/plans/

contracts are dumb. they should all be discontinued. just pay full price for the phone and thats it.

I signed up for new Cingular service in February and brought my own unlocked v635 in to get connected. I was told in no uncertain terms by the rep that I still had to sign a 2 year contract.
After reading this thread it seems that I was lied to. Is there any way I can get my contract status changed?

if it's under 30 days, you can return it all under buyer's remorse and start again. if it's past 30 days, then you're out of luck.
store reps will sometimes say you have to go on a 2 yr. so they can get commission. also, i'm sure some just aren't aware of the options.

Hi Cing reps (esp. Steva, justin, and emlo),
I'm joining cingular and have some q's:
* When I signup with a 2 year plan (and buy a phone) can I later change it to 1 year without loosing m2m?
* If I change it to a 1 yr, can I change it to a post pay no commitment without loosing m2m after I have signed up in stores?
* what phones would you recommend?
Thanks guys,
- mofo
