On my V600 there are a lot of locked files. And i'd really like to get rid of most of them. Especially the little videos that I cant really use for anything. Is there anything I can do to unlock them and delete them?

And what is it this Flash/flex thingiee does anyways? Make my mobile uber fast?

Tools Needed
P2KMan
USB Data Cable

1. Backup your original ringtones
Before you delete anything, backup every file in the 'audio' folder. I cannot stress this enough, it will take 2 minutes to possibly save you from having to re-flex your phone.

2. Edit ring styles
This is a common mistake (I made it too, don't worry), but it is what causes problems with the detail menu. You need to edit all ring styles (loud, soft, etc), and set every ring tone to silent. If you delete a file that is set as one of the ring tones, this is what kicks you out of the ring details menu.

3. Delete preinstalled ringtones
Using P2Kman, delete the preinstalled ringtones that you don't want to keep. I deleted all of them, to free up as much space as possible for mp3. On some phones, you will see a file called 'funlight.pat' in the audio folder; don't delete that, it controls the light on the phone flip.

4. Delete MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db
This is also another common mistake. These files are lists of every ringtone in the audio folder. When you delete ringtones, they are still listed in these files, and the phone will still try and find them. This is also a cause for getting kicked out of the ring detail menu. On restart, the phone will automatically build new copies of these files.

5. Restart the phone
You need to restart the phone so it will build new MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db files. These will give the phone a current listing of what's in the audio folder.

6. Make sure it worked
Check your ring details menu, and make sure it will open. Also, make sure you can set a ring tone from that menu. Scroll through the list of ringtones completely - if there is a problem anywhere, it will kick you back to the settings menu.

7. Add new ringtones
If you are adding new ringtones, you can upload them now. After you upload them, delete MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db, and restart the phone. Once again, this is so the phone will update the list, and recognize the new tones.

Notes
In the future, if you want to delete ringtones off the phone, I recommend doing it from the phone, in the sounds browser. This should prevent any problems with the ring detail menu. Also, I highly recommend backing up every single file on the phone. It only takes a few minutes, but it can save you alot of headache.

After reloading all the deleted ringtones, did you delete MyToneDB.db and TempToneDB.db, and then restart the phone?

If you haven't, you should try that. If you already tried that and it didn't work you could try pk2tools v0.6.3 to set everything to vibe and then try to get into and fix the ring details. I've never done that myself, but I read that it is supposed to work.

pk2tools v0.6.3 (bezols) does work as i did this to get mine working ..... motomix won't work if you've got rid of your base tracks....you'll need to reload these or it will just return to menu when you select

i had a very similar problem with the camera also...until sounds where returned

I keep getting stuck on Part 2 I think.

"You need to edit all ring styles (loud, soft, etc), and set every ring tone to silent."

All I'm doing is setting my phone on silent. I have to set every single one of these on silent? How do I do that? And I have to delete the .db's twice?

Thanks!
