Gosh, thanks a lot for that Khaos... 
That's the main thing I miss about my little Nokia 3560 candy bar. The ring profiles were FULLY customizable. On this V551, you can't do anything.
Some of their other settings, and menu organizations are completely asinine as well.
I'm starting to think the people who designed these motorola phones, who thought they had all these great ideas, must have ridden the short bus to school when they were little...

Vibe & Ring was not available on the first version of v551. I got mine 4 months ago and this was not available. Then it broke and the replacement I received has this option.

Hmmm. I have a V551. Set my ringtone to use an MP3 clip. Set it with the out-of-the-box ring/vibe setting, no special hacking. It does vibrate throughout the playing of the clip, not just at then begining or end.
Possibly could be a change Motorola (or Cingular) since mine was a recent purchase.

Yes it's a new s/w verson typy in *#9999# you see you have the 18.0 not 17

seems bit 4 is enabled already on my seem 0032_0001 is there something else I can try or is it a diffrence in firmware ?
update I just read post new f/w has ring vibe working at sametime. I just brought phone in for service, they updated firmware and tested after reading above post and guess what. it's working.
