FYI: If your phone is locked to t-momo, flash/flex will not unlock it. |
hate to call you on this one but, if you put an unbranded flex on your phone it will unlock your phone, you're taking all the software tmo put on your phone, which includes their sim subsidary code lock, and installing generic software on it so any sim card will work. i flexed my v600 with the v620 flex file and my phone is now unlocked. did the same with a cingular v70, flexed it with an unbranded flex and now it's unlocked, before it wasn't. i have a cingular and tmo sim card so i was able to check both phones with both sims and it worked.
also you can reverse the same process, if you flex your tmo phone with a cingular flex it locks it to cingular (only an example). some flexes are network specific, or branded flexes and will lock your phone to that network, i've done this before too, wasn't fun having a vodafone singleband samsung e700 in the us when i had a tmo triband e715. anytime you go in and change stuff internally on a phone like this you have to be careful and know what your doing. i couldn't tell you how many times i screwed up when i started doing this. now if i could only get my windows problems to go away....
