Has anyone answered this question because I am having the same trouble. I have tried several times to send songs but it keeps saying it has to be under 30k. I have the same phone the LG VS6100. Please help because I really want to get songs onto my phone. Thank you

I found this site called mobile17. This site will allow you to receive mp3 ring tones to your LG 6100 and other cell phones.
Please note. You must have the web working on your cell.
So either pay your cell provider or search around on how to get it for free!
http://www.cellphonehacks.com/viewtopic.php?t=38981 (read the 5th post down)
If you don’t have the web enabled on your phone, you will not be able to receive the tone.
Here are the steps:
-Go here: http://mobile17.smashsworld.com/
-Enter cell number / Click Next
-Make sure the radio button is on "Ringtones" / Click next
-Click next under the 1st column (Registration.....and I don’t want one)
-Answer questions about your cell service / Click next
-Choose your phone / Click next
-Answer more questions about your cell service / Click next
-Review all of your info / Click next
-Choose the "mobile17 Standard --ABSOLUTELY FREE!" / (note the estimated time it will take for you to receive the tone) / Click next
-Upload any mp3 / name it / choose where the tone should start and for how long it should play / Click next
-Once the page is done loading (uploading of the mp3) the site will send you your tone within the time it told you.
-Then Bingo! You have your tone! Enjoy!

I was having problems with BitPim communicating with my vx6100. Instead of configuring the phone comm port settings to Auto, I went one by one on each com to see which worked. None communicated except for the Serial port. Which would Hang on busy and not actually do anything. To get it to work I changed the USB data cable connection from my usb2.0 port, to an old USB 1.0 port. It reidentified the 'new hardware' in windows, had me go through the installation of software drivers again, but after that. worked like a charm!
btw- thank you for this thread to get me started.
