okay just for my clarification: you are currently in germany AND don't currently have the sidekick activated w/any provider?

if that is correct, why not visit the Germany tmobile site sweetie. This way no US SSN will be required. http://www.t-mobile.de/index - I suggest dealer search OR T-mobile info. Hotline

T-mobile info. Hotline 0800/3 30 66 99 Product and service information f?r prospective customers

It's translated so you may want to confirm the ph# first

Well see that's the problem I connected it with t-mobile in germany but the phone asked me for a special code? The sim worked but than immediately asked for the speacial code to enable the sim ...So my phone must be locked and I need the sim unlock code..right?? I bought it off of e-bay from the states..The service for hiptop here is e-plus..But that doesn't seem to matter since I dont have the code..What can I do otherwise..

if you call tmobile in germany they should give u the code or they will reflash ur phone just tell them that u got the phone off ebay and its a US flashed phone with tmobile and that u need to use it in germany with tmobile they should do it since you are their customer.

^^ No they shouldn't. There isn't enough info to help you just yet.
germanysk2 i need you to be more specific when you say "special code'. If it asked for PUK coke, then call customer service & specifically say unlock code. if it asked for UNLOCK code - then do the same.

I'm sure the LCD doesn't display enter special code. Please call customer service & advise them of what the screen says. Also if it was a PUK situation & you've been trying to guess it, you may have to buy a new SIM card because the old one is distroyed.

I bought the phone off of t-mobile ..from the states via e-bay.. I got the phone here and went to t-mobile germany. I got a contract and I put my card in. It asked for the sim card pin..I put it in..Than it ask for'' speacial code required to enable the sim card..Nothing worked the pin2,puk and puk 2...The phone was suppose to be unlocked but I guess it wasn't if it ask for this..or??? Was there a mistake I made...Any further info would be great...
