I have done all that has been suggested above on my new (freshlyinstalled) Win2K PC. The software used to work before I formatted it.
Now, the phone connects via infrared but cannot connect via USB. The Phone Connection Monitor satys at "Connecting" mode forever.
Any ideas?
TIA

Hi,
The suggestion for your error seems to be with the phones cable configuration. It may be set to higher speeds, which your computer would not understand or compete with. But be sure to check if you've done the correct settings once more.
To carryout this progress these are the relevent steps to be adhered.
| Quote: | 1. Go to Control Panel.
2. Connections
3. Cable
4. Check if you've set your cable to "PC Connect" other than "Modem"
5. Check if you've set your connection speeds to 9600bps which is the usual connection speed. |
Hope this ought to solve your problem.
Bye,

Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem with my P900. It was working fine until recently when I decided to backup my phone. The phone connection monitor is on, the com posrt says connected but the phone Icon says Not connected' when opened. So I de-installed everything and tried re-installing from the CD, which failed as it couldnt open a file off the CD. I have downloaded all the relevant files from SE website and followed many instructions (including from this web site) but the phone still wont connect!! And to think I got rid of my Nokia 7650 for this!!!!
Any ideas would be appreciated before it ends up on eBay!!

i have a very similar problem - the synch station light comes on but the phone won't connect. curiously i can send files via a seperate infrared link with ease but the phone is not recognised by the phone connection link software - it is as if the phone is not there even though i can merrily send files by infared.
i have done all the usual things instlaling, uninstalling etc, checked all the com ports and have ploughed through the knowledge base at SE, fiddled with firewalls and virus checkers but have not got anywhere. phone and synchstations worked fine for ages then phone suddenly did a couple of factory resets unprompted by me and now is misbehaving horribly
basically it seems that the SE office software has suddenly stopped recognising the phone
very frustrating. anyone have an answer ?

Well, after completely removing all the software incuding registry entries, following the script off this web board (johnrmcohen@hotmail.com - many thanks!!) setting the anti virus options and reconnecting everything - Nothing! Then I noticed the com10 port was stuck on 'connecting', I unchecked it then rechecked the box, and the phone connected, I was actually able to backup my phone and contacts, then 3 days later the phone has stopped connecting again!!!!
Also I have noticed the 'C' key on the flip pad is becoming very difficult to operate, takes a lot of pressing to backspace. Maybe a weakness??
