Can anyone tell me what an SD Memory Card is? How is it differ from a regular MMC? Does it cost higher? Does it fit to any phone or needs compatibilty?

SD memory cards are mainly used for digital cameras. [and flash storage devices?]
MMC cards are mainly used for mobile phones.
The difference, i dunno, format?

SD has a large number of pins, its thicker than an mmc, some can be locked manually(h/w lock) and so on. So a regular mmc slot will NOT take an SD card.

I dont think there is any difference that matters for a mobile. All MMC capable phones will accept SD cards. They are also a lot cheaper.

Nope.
SD card drives can read MMCs & SD cards.
MMC drives can only read MMCs.
SD cards are the further development of MMCs.
