almost everyone i know has colored phones, and i want one. i see the same blue lcd all the time, the only thing that keeps me company is my wireless plan
someone suggested that i should claim it lost/stolen and they'll give you a new model.. it happened to him twice too.. geez lucky guy.. well i wanna give it a try.. if i tell them i lost it or something, do i have to ask if i can get a new model or they'll give me a new model instantly? (i really want the A600) cuz i remember when my screen got broken they replaced me the same freakin model..
anyway, has anyone ever tried doing this? and if so, how long did it take you to wait, and did you get to pay any extra fees or anything, like activation n stuff? btw im insured.

Did you opt for the equipment replacement program with Sprint? If you did then you can get your phone replaced after a $35.00 deductible is paid (or at least that's what is was when I was still working for Sprint in 8/04). However, they are going to give you the same model phone. If, for some reason, the same model phone is not available they will then give you a comparable model. Be sure when you activate your replacement program you tell the rep that this was replaced through the Equipment Replacement Program. Therefore, you won't be charged an activation fee. However, be sure you check your next month's bill to make sure a mistake has not occurred.

yeh i have that program. so i can ask for another replacement? they never said anything about it, cuz i asked them if i could get a replacement OR upgrades and they recommended me to buy the phone full charge (which is like $249) and let them know by email and they'll credit me $125) thats still not a fair deal, i thought existing customers have an advantage for lowering down the phones..
like those promotions they have.. like u pay only $## to sign up for 2 years.... i dont really mind if i get another __ year contract cuz i love my plan... simply why is it so hard to get new phones for existing customers?
anyway, thanks for your input, i thought nobody would ever reply back to me.
can u tell me more bout the replacement programs? like what do they not tell you.. bec. im sure they didnt mention (suggesting) that option.

This is exactly wrong. new customers bring in new revenue. Old customers just hang around. New customers get free/cheap phones, sign up for huge plans and all the bells and whistles, and there is where the money is. Old customers get stuck buying $300 phones that newbs only pay $29 for.
The only way for Sprint(or any provider), to generate new revenue off of an old customer is to get them into the stores and looking at phones with all the bells and whistles, sign them into new 2 year contracts and upsell them on plans.

actually, old customer can also take advantage of rebates after pruchasing the phone. if you had had service for 18months of more, you can get a mail-in rebate of up to $150 after purchasing a new phone (2yr contract, $100 for a 1yr) and if you phone is qualified for the buy back program you can get between $25 to $75 credit towards you bill.
If you have anymore question, feel free to ask

yes im qualified for that program too, ive had my phone for more than 18 mos. but i dont wanna go through their rebates, i was hoping id get an instant rebate when i buy it,
ive had enough with them honestly, since i never gotten my rebates last time and i followed the whole procedure, i didnt get my full payments.
oh well thanks for the info, i guess ill wait for a lil while, they promised me that the promotion will end sometime at the end of january then when i got there, they said the promo ended like a week ago. err i really hate sprint, ill probably just wait till my contract dies and move somewhere else

You can always do an add a sub and they will give you a decent discount on a phone. Just check on your account on the web and you will see what you qualify for.
