Well,

I just testing out the firmware and it definately DOES work in the U.S. with T-Mobile.

I am in Denver and use tmobile. Loaded the firmware, had to switch it over to English (hehe), then I found the option to change the BAND to 1900 and the service to manual: T-Mobile. Works perfectly.

My only problem was my modifications. I was using the e715uvdc5 firmware with a few menu/style tweaks that I came to enjoy (including no camera sound, and roman numeral time face). I tried loading these mod's and it froze the camera.

My next step is locating software that will let me import these tweaks for the new Video firmware... then all will be good.

If you can do without the mod's, it's all good. icon_cool.gif

If anyone knows how to do what I'm wanting, please let me know.

Enjoy.

Yeah, about the mods, I forgot to tell you, any mod you try to flash to this firmware version will always result on the phone crashing or functioning improperly, at least the ones around, like the no camera sound, the battery icon change, and others like those. I tried all mods for the version you had from tmobile, on the telcel version they just don't work, if you could find a working mod to change the Telcel Logo on the startup screen, please tell me, even though it's my current carrier I just hate that stupid logo. Glad you could use the firmware, by the way, you can customize the phone settings so you can use tmobile's services like mms, ems, wap, etc. icon_cool.gif

Hit the menu button
Then hit 6-5-And that should throw you up to language selection. Ingles, English, all the same.

Don't know about infrared...never had luck with that. I've heard from others it works.

And no, I didn't have to unlock or do any codes to get it to work with T-Mobile in the U.S. Just had to go to the BAUD selection and put it to 1900, then manually select the Network service to T-Mobile or Voicestream.

g'luck

No, haven't seen any mod's.
Then again, I didn't even know you could update cell phone firmware 2 weeks ago. I'm trying to figure out HOW to edit firmware saves.

Once I do, I'll post it and put a link here.

Hello all,

First of all, thanx to wolf_cr, Nasir & HueMann, and A Pape for the beginnings to mod'ing the ever growing TelCel popularity.

I just did a couple of my first ever mod's, which were actually just getting the images from John and learning how to transfer them to the TelCel firmware.

I'll go ahead and post A Pape's "no camera sound" mod (the first mod for telcel, i believe).

Browse over to the forums at The Mod Squad for help & possibly any other mod's.
They will be hosting them, and I have no plans to take them off my site.
