i connect notebook with my nokia 6260 via bluetooth. without problems. software discovers all available services including dialup. but, no matter what i do, it cannot connect to the notebook. it keep rejects connection due hardware problem. may i note that i used n6310i with same bt dongle and it worked fine. some guys told me that this is nokia malfunction (probably with this series?) but i can't believe that. where else can i search for problem? thanks for any opinion...

Nokia did a bad bluetooth implementation (on quite all phones).
If I get you right, you want to use the phone as modem for dial-up connection.
You will need to install the original Nokia modem drivers:
http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,60861,00.html
Also you need to have your provider activate the dial-up connection option for you. Most providers have this feature deactivated.

Your bluetooth software give you only the protocol.
You still need to install the modem drivers.

My Nokia 6260 facing the same problem. 6260 suppose can act as a modem for dial up/fax feature and I could use it via BT to my PDA/Notebook to dial up by using Data Call/GSM.
My notebook detect Modem, I point it to Nokia BT & IrDA modem driver, it install successfully. I can see Nokia 6260 IrDA & BT modem inside my XP (SP2) with my Nokia PC Suite 6.4.8, and can adjust the Data Connection Speed from 9.6 to 48kbps.
Some how, whenever I tried to dial up using this 6260 modem, XP said "No modem found....."
Same to my HP PDA 1940, using BT Dial Up modem, "no modem found...".
Alternatively, 6260 build in Access Point. I create new AP, put in profile name, username, password, phone no (to dial out), even it feature ADVANCED setting, I could set it as callback (use with windows 2003 dial up networking call back)...DONE. But, whenever i select web browser and connect (point to the new AP), it trying to dial, short while, fail. Error message as "Check connection settings".
I really suspect this 6260 built in modem function or not. Or maybe, the built in modem is not there!! (If modem online, you could do diagnostics under XP modem )
B4 this I use SonyEricson T630, everything works fine. Nothing much to configure on phone, just enable BT, passkey, that's it!!
Appreciated if someone could help up.

OK, I manage to use my Nokia 6260 via notebook IrDA as modem dial in to my windows 2003 RAS server.
Very simple, you need to activate the "Modem" under Connect, then XP (SP2 only work) will detect another modem by different Com port (mine is Com 5), you need to install the Nokia 6260 driver again. Done.
Now you can use windows dial up network as point to Nokia 6260 IrDA as modem, or even fax.
But, I still facing same problem via my HP 1940 PDA. Maybe should wait until Nokia establish any driver for PDA (BT/IrDA)...
Question here.
Anyone try out the Access Point create new connection (this call not made via GPRS/WAP, but dial up networking)
I create new profile under AP, when I enter WEB it will automatic connect via the new AP profile. But, it wouldn't even dial. Any idea with this? Or this only for GPRS/WAP/HSCSD?
