Hi friends,
I have a samsung v205 using cingular connection. It is unlocked. The wireless internet is up with cingular but I can't seem to get the gprs and mms configuration to work. It asks for a password but would not allow me to enter one. Please help guide me to configure the phone so it's compatible with cingulars. thanks
steve

quick questions...

1. is the fone unlocked?
2. have you flashed it recently or is it flashed? (meaning, did you change your firmware by any means?)
3. is the fone a tmobile fone or you purchased it clean without any tmobile on its front?

these details will determine what actions we can do to resolve the situation ok?

cheers!

Hey Jomari,
thanks for help. I actually bought the phone from a phone store. it's originally a t-mobile unit that was unlocked and converted to cingular. I'm not sure if it's been been flashed but everything works fine except connection to internet and emailing. thanks again.

check to see if your fones funbox->tzones or wap settings?

if its tzones, then your fone is still using a v205 setting.

if its wap settings, then its been flashed to a v200.

also check using your camera, if it has a zoom function then its a flashed v205.

reason being is hav to find out what your current settings are...

as i mentioned before, your fone maybe 'default' set to tmobile settings, thus not allowing you to surf. sure its surfing, its just trying to surf on a tmobile account. you can try to reset this by entering the code... *vswap#

let me know what it is ok?

glad to help.

It's been flashed to v200. All the cingular required configurations are entered such as apn, ip, user name, etc. No Response From Network. Thinking it might be my sim card. I entered it into another phone T720 cingular phone. It works fine. Can't figure it out. thanks

if you can try to find the gprs settings sticky (its in this forum) and try to find other settings....

i did a trial and error, using data instead of gprs... now it works fine...

depending on the firmware, you can see if you are connected by checking it and testing it...

trial and error will help alot. oh, and so will patience. icon_razz.gif

cheers.

ps.

did you activate your web browsing thingamagig with cingular though?

I just purchased a V205 (T-mobile) phone. This phone is unlocked, but NOT flashed to V200. I am currently using this phone on Cingular. When I try to use the browser (T-Zone) all I get is "no response from network". At first I thought the wap browser was locked. However, after using a friends T-mobile sim, the same problem persisted. Is there away to configure the ports and ips manually or I dont know....

Any help would be much appreciated
