Hey folks,
i just bought a LG VX6100. A word famous hacker was on Tech Tv a few months back. He was showing how to change your phone number so when you call others it will display a different phone number. He said it is 100% legal as long as your intensions are not for scamming. Since i like to joke with my friends that is a perfect tool.
I started to mess around in the service area. I went to the menu and hit 0 and then the service code as 000000. Then went into service program ( #1 ) then went in and changed my phone number (MDN) and (MIN). then tried to call and i get a operator saying i dont have service. (i used my buddies verizon phone number)
Under phone info it has his number.... anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,

I have a Verizon phone also and I tried to do the caller i.d. thing and everything was working fine but when I tried to call out the same thing happened to me. I wasn't sure if you were saying how to do it or asking, but I would like to know. Thanx, J-Mack

The HEX and the Phone Number go hand-in-hand on an activation with your service provider. Your HEX would be the same on the system, but its your number that determines the "active switch." Since you went into the service programming and changed the number to your friends number or whatever the situation is. The hex is active on verizon but the number is still registered under your friends hex. Its kinda complicated.

I don't understand what you're saying but thanks for your input. That would be cool if it worked though.
