Well, I'd just like to ask some things about me IR adapter. I've just got it yesterday, coz I had to wait a month till the fellas in the shop could get a COM-port one, coz I wasn't willing to spend 16-20,000 Forints (68-85 USD) for an USB version. So, it turns out that the version of it is
MA-600. I'd just like to ask you who has this stuff? and does it work with later SE phones (above T68i)? And how to git this thing working? PLEASE write some sort of guide for me. I have a WinXP Professional here, so don't tell me bull... like in the Ericsson Communications Suite thingie.

You'll need Sendfile

And you mean the Phone: SonyEricsson T310
Not above t68i because you don't got an T610 that works a bit different

Well, what I've meant with that is that MA (that's the name of that Taiwan company) also has the USB version of mine, called MA-620. So, I've gone to the website, and found software for all phones, even the P800. But when I went to MA-600 download page I've only got such software for up to the T68i. And all the IR Sony Ericsson phones beneath it; (like T39 and other fossils) the big question is: are these 2 stuff (my T310 and the MA-600) compatible???? If no, then this is the 2nd time I've been tricked.
First, with buying a data cable and realising that it's no good for sending pictures and other multimedia from phone to PC with it, then after that month I've finally got rid of it and bought this IR adapter, which has a 50% chance that it turns out to be yet another piece of junk. And I really want to be sure of it. One of our comrades have stated that ya'll have to manipulate something in BIOS. Then another one says that you need nothing to use an IR under WinXP, and that the whole thing's autonatic. Well, I;d like to be certain about this, coz until then I can't use my phone properly and put on my home made themes on it!

PLUS: I'd like to ask all people out there for a sendfile like proggie that has a dial-up wizard, or anything that is user-friendly! Well, actually the SE Communicatiocs Suite has this, and before buying a new hard disk, and formatting the old one, it worked (I mean the wizard). Now, it simply asks me to choose 1 of the connected phones to start the program with, when the wizard's task is supposed to be to connect the phone, and install drivers etc. to get the thing working.

What exactly would you like to exchange?
I also have WinXP, a T310 AND the MA600 which works perfectly on it's own.
I mean: When I lay my T310 in range of the MA600, it automatically detects that a "t300 is in range" (which is correct, since the t310 is ALMOST identical to the t300). after that I can send pictures, ringtones, games from and to my phone!!
Only thing that bothers me is that I can't seem to exchange/backup my MMS'es, SMS's, and contacts since, like you said, the MA600-software on the Mobile Action site is not for the t310. Also, don't bother trying to use the MA620 software with the MA600... it doesn't work...
for the rest, everything is perfect!! Just make sure you have the correct drivers for the MA600 (for WinXP, that is..don't use the drivers on the CD since they're old). just download the new drivers from the MA-site...
as soon as you activate the IR-port on the t310 and put it in range of the MA600, you'll see that it works
Almost forgot!!
Don't forget to set the Maximum connection speed of the MA600 to 9600 MAX!! setting it higher will result in not getting any connection , or connection losses...

Kösz haver!!!!! Thanx a lot!!!!!!! Well, before I've read your post, the problem simply solved itself. I had my T310 (with IR port on) in front of the adapter, and once XP displayed "Another computer is nearby, click here to send files to the T300"!!! Well, I'm still at 115200 bps, and it is possible to send stuff from PC to phone, but when I try to send stuff from phone to PC, it slowly connects to the IrDA adapter, and displays sending the file, and I also see the button of a window appearing on the taskbar, but when I try to click on it, it doesn't appear, and it turns out that the whole thing froze. I could sit there till armageddon, but still my phone displays that "Sending" stuff, with the loader animation. So you say, that if I set the speed to a lower rate, then everything will work fine??? I'm trying it now... and thanx again

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEYEYEYEYEYEYEYEYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! MAN, I had to wait 1 and a half moths after purchasing my T310 to get a connection between my phone and me PC. First I bought a data cable, and I realized afterwardz that it can't get data more complex than an SMS from phone to PC. Then there was no COM-port IR adapter in shop for a month (USB port was 12000 (that's the price of me MA-600) + 5000 HUF, which is approx. 72 USD)!! And when I got it, I still had to f#% around for 3 days until yor post! And I need no sh$#ty software and Sony Ericsson Communications Suite for it at all!!!! Thanx a lot guys, I really appreciate yor help!

Cool that it finally works for you I'm very happy myself that the t310 is so bloody easy in both sending and receiving files. Especially for polyphonic ringtones: just download a .mid file somewhere, send it to the t310 and presto!
A friend of mine has a NEC with Vodafone Live! and he doesn't even seem able to send any pictures he made with the phone to his PC!! The t310 on the other hand, does that without any problem
enjoy the phone!!

the MA600 isn't available anymore (as far as I know of) and I bought mine for just 10 NLG back then (it was a free unit which we received at the store i worked at that time, and bought it for that amount, haha!).
The MA620 (USB-model) will sell for around 39 euro's....
