what are peoples views on the new to be released 7710?
I like the idea of it being a kind of cross between a phone and pda, and has nice fetures, like handwriting recognising touch screen, but will it be worth the 500 euro price tag?

Hand writing recognition isn't that new. The old Sony Ericsson P800 could do it.
But it's the first (official released) phone of Nokia which can do it.
The screensize is great (640*320 (P800: 320*208)) more than enough memory for starting (90 MB internal, 128 MB MMC included).
This phone can really surf websites, even with flash.
The only negative point will be the lag of apps in the beginning. But that's always the problem of new types of phones.
If they've put in a fast processor (I'll hope 200 MHz minimum), it will be worth the money anyway!

so its pretty advanced and a good phone?
i like the idea of it coz its a nokia and i need a bit more a phone/pda which i can use for work.

I like the most the idea of buying an accessory and watch real TV on the phone... but it's DVB-H, which isn't spread widely

I know that it will be released in Germany in February.
I heared something about next week about the release in India.

ive seen on some sites people with pics of boxes of them in their shops. Yet here in the U.k no sign of a release date.
I want one so bad, especially now i know you can watch t.v on it!!!cool!

But be aware that it is DVB-H! It is not available everywhere. I know that in some parts of Finland it's available. In Germany DVB-T is available since August, but afaik it is not compatible with DVB-H

7710 is already out in India. Its MRP at nokia dealers is Rs. 28k
