I have it, i have a usb cable, win xp pro sp 2, and a v180 motorola, when i try to find the drivers with windows, it fails, i ask motorola what driver, they told me usbmot2000 i got it it won't let me use it to install my phone which is recognized by my computer as a moto v180. I used phone tools to search for the phone...i get nothing. i was thinking if i fix the XP driver problem i'll just get the non motorola tools package and it would work.

If anyone has a v180 that works with phone tools please reply to my post i would like to pick your brain.

PS i just signed up for this forum....So greetings from dirty jerz

Mobile Phone Tools is the software to transfer files between your Motorola and your computer:

You might find it a little cheaper on eBay. I paid $19.99 for mine.

I already have the software to transfer data (DataPilot), but I need a USB driver for my V3 and have been searching for over an hour with no luck. Apparently there is one in MPT, but would that enable USB for the other software (DataPilot)? Just a basic driver is all I need. I had no trouble finding one for my old phone, the obscure Toshiba VM4050.

have a v180 that works with MPT. What I had to do was go into tools/general phone setup, and switch the modem from my PC modem to the USB motorola modem, then it worked.

IDK, if there is a "FREE" way to sync your Cell with your PC. I got a V3, and I had the same problem. I went to Motorola's website and found the Phone tools. Its not free, its $29.99 if you buy it from them, but it will let you connect your phone to your PC. If you do find another way, let me know. =)

i don't use a com-port. Is that why MIDway doesn't upload?
