For the most part no. Most USB items are plug and play. I have found an issue with Windows XP however. It keeps asking me for drivers for plug and play devices. There are no drivers to load, this is an issue with Windows. The easiest way to fix it is to plug the device into another computer and then copy the registry entries for that device onto you computer. Then when you plug in the device the computer will see it as already installed. If you don't know how to do this I would recommend talking to a professional who does as you can really screw up your computer if you do it wrong!
