Phone Model: Nokia 6260

So here's the deal, I bought my Nokia 6260 from ebay (gasp!) to replace my 7650. My network provider is O2 UK, on checking there site, there were no settings for GPRS & MMS so I used the 7650's settings sent to my phone. Any MMS sent just hangs in the outbox and when I try to connect wia the web services, I get a nice big G spinning around the globe but no content or browser. So I contacted O2 who forwarded the settings directly from Nokia.co.uk but they just say "Unable to Connect - Check Settings" so are even worse. I'm awaiting a "technical expert" from O2 to call back, that was three days ago! So I thought I'd turn to other users of the phone to see if anyone else has had the same problems or managed to fix it. Also for some reason when I "flip" the phone to browse mode it does nothing - camera & open mode work ok my firmware is V3.0436.0 03-09-04 RM-25. Don't know if this is the latest. I have also tried using Doris Browser, but still no luck just incase the phones inbuilt browser software was corrupt and have also done a deep reset of the phones settings (*#7370#). Sorry for rambling on but your help will be most appreciated.
Thanks

The 6260 and the 7650 use different sorts of GPRS which requires different settings.

Get your settings there. It's for free.

I have already got the settings from nokia (the link provided directs me to the same page) as I mentioned earlier for the 6260 and they don't work they say "Unable to Connect - Check Settings", I was also reading one of your earlier posts that suggested trying the settings for the 6600 from Nokia but these also give the same response. Thanks, but still no help, any other suggestions?

Thanks Ranjith, after contacting O2 again today, I managed to get an operator to go through all of the settings manually for me and guess what, it worked - I'm so happy.
Still haven't resolved the issue as to whether when you place the phone in browse mode the browser opens up or not so if there are any 6260 owners out there, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me what yours does when you flip it over to browse mode. Thanks

The only way I managed to solve this was to ring my operator and get them to go through the settings and input them manually. The settings that were on Nokia's site were for pay monthly customers and I am on PAYG. So if you are PAYG get orange to go the the access point settings with you and input the manually. As soon as I did this it worked straight away... hope this helps.
PS Could you tell me when you flip your phone all the way over on itself, does it go into browse mode and open up the web browser automatically?

Hi there.. I'm having problems with my Nokia 6260 which I'm using on Vodafone pay monthly. Bought on eBay orginally on O2.
I can get GPRS working, browse the web and Vodafone Live! is ok for connecting and sending/receiving emails. Normal txt's ok and calls too.
The only thing that will not work is MMS. I've tried to download the Nokia settings for 6260, 6100 and others. I have manually setup the settings still not working.
When I send an MMS I get the error "Message Sending Failed!" When I click details I get : Multimedia: Unkown mulitmedia error.
Any one have any ideas? PLEASE HELP....
Vodafone can not help as they say they do not support this model yet!
