Hey i just purchased a new vx7000 from verizon there are a few questions i have. Where do i get a cheap data cable other than verizon? Also, how do i put my own mp3 songs on as ringers and hwo do i shorten them up to make them fit. Also, is there a program or software i need to make the computer recognize my phone, or will the computer just recoginze it by itself. Thanks alot.

Data Cable: (DataPilot) The quality of these cords will go a long way.
These cords do not burn At least all 20 cords that I have
never burned. You get what you pay for, thats all I can
say
Software: Download BITPIM 07.23 (http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/)
Download Soundforge or Cool edit pro 2.1 for music editing
The data cable should come with the software to sync the cord with the computer.

If im not mistaken the cool edit pro is a 30 day trial only. So edit as much ringtones as you can. Just go to Google.com and type in cool edit pro. It will bring you to a download page

Just head to your local radio shack. They will have the Future Dial cable instock for either the 7000 series or the 6000 series. Either one will work. Some people said they had to shave some of the 6000's cable connector off, but mine fit right in.
If you download the drivers from www.futuredial.com - the prolific USB drivers are the one you want. You will NOT have to buy any software. Just go to the bitpim address above that IT gave you and you can download that sofware.
You will be all set and only out the $20 for the cable at the Shack!

You can buy a cable on ebay for a LOW LOW price. Seriously... go ebay. UNDER 10 bucks, including shiping.
