You guys have so much problem with using P2kman just be cause of one little step that you guys did not do when you use it to delete stock tones or upload them. There is a feature in p2kman that turn all sound you got in fone to silent, or you just have to manualy do it in your fone, then you won'rt have that problem, but if you do delete those two files that mention above then masre reset. I think all this has been cover in how to use p2kman by Duceduc. icon_smile.gif

You know MPT is copyright protected right? you can privately email and pass it around but to put up a domain and hand it out you are asking for trouble icon_exclaim.gif

P.S. Don't you read the posts the administrators post? The post clearly says that you mustn't ask for free copyrighted software, specifically refering to Mobile Phone Tools!

I had MPT installed, I couldn't get anywhere with the ringtones. As a matter of fact, I don't even think I found one that supported the v180. I found that p2kman worked well for uploading ringers, but experienced the same problem with not being able to set them as ringers. It's not my v180, but a non-computer-savvy friend's, but next time I see him I'll try what sunnyblueskies suggests.

Regarding MPT, is there a link for whatever version you guys all have that works? Is it free? Thanks.

your fone should be able to handle mp3. Use Audacity & lame or mp3 cutter, ripp you cd to mp3 format , use audacity to cut hte 25 second clip that you like at 24 bitrate, 128kb max, mono save it and use MPT to load it in. How to get the lastet verson?
Open your MPT with fone plug in, it'll does it things, if it's idelling at inital more than 20 second hit cancle tha a skin fone will will pop up. On there you 'll see the menu icon, click that you should see a option call live update, click on that it'll take you to the latest verson 3.19h

Open your MPT with fone plug in, it'll does it things, if it's idelling at inital more than 20 second hit cancle tha a skin fone will will pop up, on the there is a menu icon click on it should see a drop down with F6 (general setting)---> Custommized-->modem exchange click on that wizard will take over click yes two time then check the box that let you chosse modem from list-->motorola gsm, now on your right should be s list of modem scrow down or up till you see V180 click it you are done. I should work

This one is much better. Go to http://www.meomo.com upload your tone or picture (it lets you resize and crop etc) then use your mobile and go to the same url using grps. The site give you tones of free wallpapers and midi, mp3 and Real voice tones and java games for free.

I got a little problem with my V 180 too. After working a little bit with p2k I uploaded a new ringtone (self ripped mp3). IDE3 tags are ok, but when I upload it it only shows me the name of the file. Can I change that somehow, so it uses "my names" or should i just change the filename.

P.s. I downloaded one of the default ringtones, and after uploading it again without changing anything it showed me only the name of the file (~AlertFile201) instead of the real name (Jade)

hey, sorry if im reviving this old thread here, but i just got a V180 2 days ago, and i tried using meomo.com, i uploaded 2 songs i would like as ringtones, the one i wanted most didnt work, it was a 29 second mp3, and it uploaded fine, but when i went on my phone to get it, an error came up on the screen, i dont remember it at the moment, and a midi file 1 minute long or so, now, the midi uploaded fine on got on my phone fine, and i managed to get it as a ringtone, but, when i started using it, i had my friend call me to see if it worked, so he called me, and it was ringing, and working, but when i opened up the phone, it just stopped. like i opened the phone, and it hung up, so he called me back, but this time, it only rang for about 3 or 4 seconds, and before i could open up the phone, it stopped. would these problems have anything to do with the new ringtone i uploaded? i just want to know if i should change it so it doesnt ruin my phone, or are these problems with the actual phone itself? thanks

I dont think so, what do you mean you opened your phone. Do you mean you answered the call!!!
It sounds like you have some sort of a problem with your phone or you are running short on memory.
