I recently purchased a VX7000 and immediately noticed a constant static when using the phone. It isn't loud, but noticable and very irritating when it's the only thing I can focus on during a call. It isn't signal strength becasue I hear it even when not on a call. With the phone up to my ear, I hear it after pressing a button (any button), but then it goes away after a few seconds - press another button and its back. The behavior makes me think it has something to do with the screen refreshing, but that is purely a guess.
Anyone else experience this? Thanks for the time.

This may sound kind of ridiculous, but make sure that the clear, plastic covering isn't still over the speaker. I was hearing some noise every now and then, and it was quite irritating and consistent. Then I noticed that my ear was rubbing up against an edge of the plastic covering ... took it off and its been golden ever since. I'd at least make sure its off. Good luck.

Jackiss - I hope that it isn't normal, becasue it bothers me and I want to get a replacement - I love the phone in every way except this. It is brand new, so I can still return it without hassle - at least in theory.
RJK0 - Thanks for the reply, an interesting theory, but not the cause...I still think it has something to do with the screen possibly interfering with the speker, but once again, no proof.

That's kinda weird that u guys experience this because I haven't had this problem at all. There have been other users that had many other miscellaneous problems with their brand new 7000's. I dunno wuts up with LG...

Ive experienced numerous earpiece problems with customers. It could be one of the following:
1. Defective earpiece (Which can be replaced)
2. Software Glitch (See if your verizon store has an updated software for your phone.
Is your phone blue or black?
