OK-I got the data cable, have some software, but the question I have is (ok, 2)
1. Do I have to connect to the internet via my cell phone to upload wallpapers from my PC to my cell phone?
2. I got the drivers for my phone, etc, but still can't figure this out. Can someone please walk me through? Here is what I've done so far...
-Plug in USB data cable to PC & Cell phone. -Put in CD with drivers for my cell phone on & loaded the driver. -Installed the software, but it doesn't get anything from my phone.
Clueless...
Thanks-anyone!!!

Are you using BitPim?

Yes, I have tried BitPim as well as a variety of other programs. I also tried different COM port and if I watch the log on BitPim, it says the port is working...this is the error message I get every time: "Phone on COM4: The phone is not responding while transitioning mode from none to brew"
I am getting another cable & CD from Vavolo and we shall see what happens with that, but I just don't think my phone has the correct chipset, and I have no clue what to do about that.

Isn't the C1300 a GSM phone? Bitpim and other software programs aren't designed to handle the GSM memory protocols. The GSM phones require different software from different manufacturers. I know that LG has the Contents Bank software avaiable, but I have heard various problems coming up with the 1300's that haven't been issues with others. First, the lack of an english version - I have heard of people getting oversea's downloads and trying them. The second is that the 1300 isn't officially supported through CB 2.0... So, just let it be known that you are not alone in the quest for software for the 1300's... If I see anything new on solutions, I will post it...

Then why are there people who sell software for the 1300...in more than one place? The person I bought my software said many of his buyer have the 1300, however, my thought is that it's Cingular. NO idea and hope that my Valovo CD works with it when I get it-I'll keep ya'll posted.

I found this at the LG website under the C1300 specs: "Options Hands-free kit, CLA, Data Kit."
Here is the link: http://us.lgservice.com/gcsc/b2c/hpi/main?tc=mds.command.MdsDetailCmd (if it works, I don't know-not sure how to post a link).
I also contacted them while I was there, on what software works with this model. Wish me luck!
Disregard link -if you go to the LG site, you can check specs on products.

No! and this really sucks because when I contacted LG about it they said that they can't give me any phone support because my plan was Cingular and Cingular did not want them offering any support and to contact Cingular (WHAT A JOKE!)

Well, I didn't hear back from LG and Cingular said they couldn't help me because I got my data cable elsewhere. I seem to be thinking if nobody yet has used a USB data to serial cable to get data to or from their 1300 that maybe it cannot be done. However, there is a lot of software & cables out there that the people selling say work...makes me wonder.
I'll see how the Valovo one does when I get it, but at this point, I have little hope. Also-makes me wonder about Futuredial & Datapilot. If anyone has gotten their 1300-with Cingular-or any carrier- to do anything-please HOLLER! THANKS!!!

I purchased a FutureDial data cable from Radio Shack - the cable id is "19." The packaging does not list the C1300 as a compatible model, but FutureDial's website (http://www.futuredial.com) does. I downloaded the appropriate driver for my PC from FutureDial's website.
Using LG PC Sync software, version 2.5, I can successfully import/add/delete/modify contact information.
If I try to use the LG Contents Bank software (ver 2.0 (2.1.0.0227-44-70)) to upload graphics or ringtones, I receive an "Error: CME-3" message. The phone then stops responding to the software; I have to power cycle the phone.
FutureDial has software for the C1300 for contact management/internet access, but none to manage media.
I spoke with a cs rep from DataPilot - he told me the only way to get TrueVoice/SuperTone ringtones onto the phone was to download them thru Cingular.
If anyone comes up with a solution to upload images/SuperTone ringtones to the C1300, please fill us in.
