I have a Nokia 6230 and recently each time I put my MMC card in my card reader for my computer it says :
"Cannot copy "X file" The disc is write-protected
Remove the write protection or use another disk
I already tried formating the card and even putting tape on the card like I read somewhere but it doesnt work and I dont have the cables or installation software, any help will be appreciated.

hello, i need help re: my memory card. i bought a new kingston mmc, 1gb and when i placed it in my n6230 it was working, the phone detected it. but when i placed the mmc in the mmc slot in the laptop to transfer songs, it won't transfer. so i placed it again in my phone to transfer via bluetooth. but still it won't trasfer. it said operatio failed. so i tried to format the mmc in my phone. when i did that, everytime i open the mmc thru gallery, it says the memory card is not formatted. even when i formatted it again and opened the mmc, it said that message again and again. my brother in law tried to format it thru laptop but it hangs. now, my phone cannot detect my mmc anymore. can i repair the mmc? or do i have to buy a new one? pls help. icon_cry.gif

[Had the same problems with my mcc card. Tried everything. Read your alcohol fixer. Didn't have any, but used peroxide and Q Tip. It worked. A life saver. Thanks

I've just purchased a Dual Voltage 1GB Kingston MMC card for my Nokia 6630 only to be dissapointed when trying to copy files over to the phone. I use the phone to play MP3 files and when I try and copy an mp3 file to the phone using the Nokia software I get the error 'Operation could not be completed' However when using the same method to copy to the phones internal memory this error does not occur.

I've tried the usual formatting the memory, turning off and on the phone, PC etc but to no avail. I had heard that there may be issues with the firmware version of the phone which may be causing issues, has anyone else had a similar problem. I'm using the firmware version V 6.03.08 / 13-02-06 / RM-1 which I guess is fairly old, could this likely be my problem?

Thanks

Hi my name Is Omer and am a Newbie. My problem is mmc write protection error while copying files from mmc reader. I also have a bluetooth but the driver didn't come with that. My windows xp couldn't detect the driver so I installed Blue Soliel and it worked with it. Now the problem is that Blue SOliel can't copy folders and files. It only copies sis, text, img and jar files etc. I want to copy system folder in which games are unpacked and it is a backup from the previous mmc. I bought recently 512mb mmc for N-gage. I have searched for Nokia PC Suite but the links are dead. One link of Rapid SHare I got but I have a dialup and can't risk 6 hours of downloading without Download Manager. My request is for a software or a solution to copy folders from PC to N-gage classic via bluetooth or any solution to overcome write protection error, probably any new solution like using a software, not a solution like pasting tape on the pin or anything else. Thanks in Advance
