I have a Nokia 6230 and recently each time I put my MMC card in my card reader for my computer it says :
"Cannot copy "X file" The disc is write-protected
Remove the write protection or use another disk
I already tried formating the card and even putting tape on the card like I read somewhere but it doesnt work and I dont have the cables or installation software, any help will be appreciated.

@ putting tape on it
This happens when for the MMC a password is set. You've got to deactivate the password for the MMC from within the phone.
If I remember correctly it should be in the MMC settings, but you will need to know the password.

When it happed on its own, its bad.
Unfortunatly this happens sometimes to MMC (I've got no idea why).
More unfortunatly there is no real workaround...
The password is in a txt-file on the MMC and by deleting it the problem would be solved, but the file is not accessable on the 6230.

I did a little research (also found the tape thing )... somebody says formatting the card in a digital camera could do the job...
But to be honest: I never heared a 6230 owner successfully recovered his memory card.
On phones with Symbian OS (like 3650, 6600, 6630) the job would be much easier ans is possible...
