interesting article. let me take the issues based on my experience:
keypad, well its designed to be a business phone, so its not meant to be too funky, like the 3650 (which i hate) or the 7610 which is good but no optimum for me. the whole phone is aimed at business users i think.
he says he surfs at 18kb/s, i think he actually means 18kB/s but even then, that seems pretty low to me. i get much higher speeds, almost twice that.
you can do video calling, i fyou have the camera stand. but nokia are will bring out new model in 2005 with camera on front, which will make it easier for video calling while on move. personally, i would never use it.
not sure about the comment about sending apic to the phone by bluetooth. problem i found with it is that once the pic is received, it sit sin your inbox and i can't figure out how to move it to the file system.
i've not experienced any problems with installing software on my 6630. but then i've not installed the ones mentioned. my boyfriend is mad about the rally pro contest game that i have on their now. its hard to get the phone back from him.
the problem with changing the colour palette using themes, it does still stick with the dfault color. guess i need new firmware for that.
i've not seen problem of phone not displaying icons when screensaver is on an dthe phone is in idle. i get icons displayed as expected.
i've never seen the flickering screen mentioned by somone.
i don't have a bluetooth headset, still prefer my wired stereo headset. but my bluetooth has generally proved to be fine.
i've had no problems with my PC suite and the dku-5 cable.
i've not had any issues with the mp3 player. in fact its the thing i use the most in my phone. gotta love the music when you travel around london's public transport.
i love the phone, only issue i have is the poor battery life as i use it in dual system mode i guess. so it constantly reselects between 3G and GSM. I get around 1.5 days use with light usage. But start using the music player and calling friends i get probably less than a day...

Is it true that 6630 by vodafone only includes 32Mb MMC instead of 64Mb? But why? Nokia site says that it includes 64Mb free and not 32!

it seems to be the case, but although my 6630 is on vodafone, i did not get my phone through normal channels. and i got 64MB on my card. Not sure if that is the case with vodafone in all countries though. Could be that vodafone in some countries might offer bigger cards.

Oh it's ok You're welcome.
I'm looking for a bigger one, 256 maybe, so you can give me a bigger reward
Hey, tell me if it really works when you have it, ok?
Btw, where did you get your 6630? Coz i'm gonna have one last week of February and it's from Japan. But since i found out that there is a newer version(well, dunno if it's true) i'd like to have the newer firmware version but if Japan has only the first version , i have no choice but to take it then upgrade it later here in the Philippines.

Hi kazz, archer
looks like something's going on in here...
as to your MMC question archer, vodafone japan only offered their 6630 with a 32MB and I think the package really depends from country to country. you have to be cautious though that when you upgrade ur MMC to a bigger one, make sure it has the right voltage for ur unit otherwise it wont work. read ur manual first, just to be safe.
and yes again, the unit i have still has the old firmware (v2.39.148). well, japan is a bit slow when it comes to this 'upgrade' thing for imported items.
so, ur finally getting one huh! so how is it gonna be? he'll be paying a monthly bill for 1, 2 yrs? or he was able to deal a unit without a plan? saan nga cya dito sa japan?
one final thing, the units here are locked to vodafone and software/remote unlocking doesnt work so make sure somebody there can unlock it for you via cable ... and let me know ok so i can have mine too by march right.
kazz, nice review and no further comment from me archer... just go for it!
