Is downloading every file through P2K a good way of keeping a backup? What's the best way?

Yes it would be. However, I wouldn't backup every files but these:
25_0001.seem
004a_0001.seem
0032_0001.seem
0061_0001.seem
0062_0001.seem

Are you saying backup all the files but these? And will you explain why not back these up?
Also, because of a problem I have found with my V600, I may have to do a master clear routinely to restore memory lost from corruption. After I do a master clear and replace all my phone numbers, ringtones, picts, etc, is there a way to backup the phone in the current configuration so I can restore it should the memory become corrupt again? And if so, won't I need to backup and restore all files?

T-Mobile noted problem and was ready to send a replacement, but said would be from refurbished stock most likely, so chances are I would get used phone with same problem. If this proves to be just a T-Mobile problem, is it with all Motorola phones, just V600 or just certain version of S/W?

Maybe it is overkill, but for the first time through this I backed up every file I found plus the seems mentioned. This will be my permanant backup. Do you know where the connection between contact and ringtone are stored? And contact and picture?
Have you tried to duplicate the problem I posted on http://forums.mobiledia.com/viewtopic.php?t=24366?
