I am on O2 UK's Leisure Time Plus pay monthly tarriff. I've been having a few problems with GPRS and MMS recently and need some help...

I have the Sony Erricson T610.

Whenever i try to send a MMS, by going to the picture option in the messaging page, it all works fine until i click send - it sends it and then the message "user barred" appears. Any idea why this is - i have even tried sending it to myself and it wont work! Both people i have tried sending this two are on contract on the same network with MMS capable phones!

The thing with GPRS now...

When i first bought the phone it wouldn't work "GPRS not available" i think the message was........anyway, all of a sudden it started working today!!! I haven't a clue why because i did nothing to try and make it work! This isn't the problem or my question - my question is how much do O2 charge per MB transferred (as i know it is charged by bandwidth not time spent unlike GSM wap)? I am not signed up to a GPRS tarriff (or bolt on thingy) so i am slightly concerned they may start charging me extortionate amounts!!! Any ideas what they charge?

Thanks again in advance...icon_smile.gif

I think that if you want to send an MMS message, you send it via GPRS.

Therefore, call o2 and ask them if your phone number is on a GPRS enabled tariff. If it isn't, they should change it to one FOC within 24-48 hours.

With your tariff I think you get free SMS messages (not sure how many). one MMS message is equal to 4 SMS messages. An MMS message is charged at 35p. As far as I am aware there is no charge for using GPRS to connect to WAP - if thats not the case I owe them a fortune. I have not been charged for three months.

O2 Leisure Time Plus tariffs have 100 free texts per month.

Full details of the call charges for the above tariff are available: click here

Hope that helps icon_wink.gif

cheers, makes it all clear now icon_smile.gif

I went into the shop and asked, turned out i had been enabled on all things apart from GPRS, a quick fone call from the O2 shop to the helpline thingy sorted that out.

Yeah, except with leisure time plus i get dopuble everything for the first three moinths - so 200 free texts (i have already sent approx. 250, not including about 5 MMSs). I really don't want to see next months bill...... icon_wink.gif

Hmmmmmmm, i wonmder how much txt bolt ons cost icon_wink.gif

Charges for GPRS are as follows.
Pay as you use data, prices are PER MEGABYTE
0-100Kb per month free
100Kb-1Mb=£2
1Mb-5Mb=£1.36
5Mb-10Mb=£1.19
10Mb-20Mb=£1.02
20Mb+=£0.80

It goes up like that, so you pay less for the more you use, but it can get VERY expensive.
Alternatively, if you are going to be using a large amount of data, particularly if you use your phone as a modem you might consider trying a data tariff,
£8 gets you 5Mb and cheap additional data, £45 gets you 125Mb.
