I bought the cable for the vx7000 and using two different programs bitpim and datapilot to transfer some stuff on my phone. However, i still can't download the movies from my vx7000. anyone know a better program to use or any other suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks

I don't have the data cable yet, so let me tell you how I get the videos from phone to computer. Do a FLIX message, and instead of typing a phone number to send it to, type in your email address. You will get a message in your inbox from yourphonenumber@vzwpix.com and inside it will be your video. Hope this helps.

i have same problem. i tryed it on vz web it looks like crap. my wifes mom is in hospital with cancer and this may be the last vidio of her and i cant see it cause of this same problem. i can tell you what i know. eather the sound, or video is in a new secret (propritary) format and only quick time can decode it. so the only thing to do now is copy it and save untill someone hacks it to be able to use it the way it should be.

Wow, what a crazy idea... I mean letting us access the content from our phone without having to pay for it? How silly is that?
But lets take a look at the issues in order.
Downloading: At this time, the only way to extract a movie is to 'trick' the phone. By saving the item to a 'draft message' you can extract the movie to your computer using Bitpim's filesystem function. The only problem is that the data is encoded and you can't play the file until you resend it back to the phone in a reverse manner.
Screen Size: Well, we need to read carefully that the video cam option is a very low resolution camera. 176x144 is the maximum resolution that the camera allows. This, when viewed on a PC screen will be roughly 1/8th of the screen at 1024x768. So, it will be very small and not so great on the quality. This is mainly due to the fact that a 320x240 video at 15 seconds would be over a MB in size. This would mean you could shoot 1 or 2 videos before the phone's video memory is gone. My Sony Mavica shoots 320x240 video's and it takes 1.4MB for 15 seconds.
File Format: Quicktime is a very decent player for most streaming video formats and the 3g2 format is no exception. As far as getting it to play in other players, it's only a matter of time, if the manufacturers stick to this format, that other players will either offer plug-ins or include this format in future versions. But again, with the limited video size on the phone, the quality won't increase when viewing on a PC.
And finally, extracting the video from the phone...
I have a feeling someone a bit further along in coding will bust this thing way before I do. Keep an eye on Bitpim updates to see when the 7000 has video extraction. Bitpim recognizes the video, but can't pull it from the phone just yet. I think that its only a matter of time before they have a new release with the video being supported.
I will try to keep everyone posted on my findings with the video stuff, but for now, I am still stuck in the 'got the video, but can't watch it yet..." mode.

To get video off the vx7000 you CANNOT use bitpim, so you just use QPST. THis program is a lot more advanced and complicated then bitpim but it works. You must be very carful and follow the directions the first few times because your actually messing with the phones data (how it actually works). Check this site out...
