I have a samsung 427 phone and have spotty service in my area, does anyone have any experience with the lg 1300 or motorola 180? I am thinking about getting one if the reception is any better, good enough to make a difference that is. thanks

I have an LG1300C and its no better than any other phone for reception. The best I've seen are the old Nokias (3595, etc). They have a higher power rating.

out of those get the Motorola V180...although any flip phone you get generally won't be as good as a candy bar style phone. Nokias are your best bet for reception but if you have to have a flip phone, get the V180.

Best reception I ever had was when I was using my Nokia 3390. Ugly phone, but always had full bars and great reception. There's a reason Nokia is #1. My Moto V180 and SE T637 also have very good reception. Stay away from Samsung (in my opinion). I have always had nothing but problems with their phones (ie dropped calls, bad reception). A lot of people want to blame their provider for call quality problems and lack of reception, but usually it is the phone.
