I used to have that phone and the faceplate isn't technically supposed to be removed. If need be, take it to a VZW tech. They have the right tools and such for it to happen.

Just pull apart while pushing down. It comes right off. Don't worry about breaking it. It's just held on by 2 little clips at the bottom. Took mine off plenty of times without breaking the clips.
