Yep, just the same. Seems to be a design fault. The handbook doesn't say anything about PC connections and the software from Samsung doesn't tell you how to make the connection. Just doesn't work. A bummer!

I found your posts while looking for an answer to my problem.
Where did you guys get your cables from and exactly what brand is it?
I bought mine from Ebay. The packaging I have doesn't seem to have a brand, but its pink with a hologram logo in the bottom right that looks like a K with a TM next to it. Does this sound similar to yours?

I also bought a USB cable from e.bay it was in pink packaging the serial nbr on the cable is
WT048000317 they said on ebay site that it would work but it doesnt, so i bought a serial cable it is a samsung cable and the fella on the stall down the market assured me it would work with my e330, and it does, it seems that its just the usb cable with the above serial nbr that dont work, i hv seem quite a few postings on other forums all saying that there USB cables dont work(same serial nbr on cables), so if i was you i would go for a serial connection cable

OK so I bought a serial cable too and it works just fine. I guess the usb cable just doesn't work with an E330 - rip-off merchants!

just wondering...i bought a usb cable a while back for an s300 and it did the same thing. after some research, i found out that it was a charging cable. obviously the seller knew that he was selling a charging but told everybody that it was a data cable too. what a rip-off. i went ahead and ordered the oem samsang cable and have not had any problems since. it may cost more but well worth it. plus it works with the v200, e715 and s200! hope that helps.

I'm thinking of buying a serial data cable to transfer pics to my pc and I just wanted to know, what software do I need? Is it the Pc Studio thing at the samsung website or does that only work with the USB cable??

Don't worry, Samsung's software is designed for serial cable since it is their official cable, not the usb ones. Actually, when usb cables are used, they need a usb-to-serial driver to make it work with Samsung's software. By the way, the PC Studio thing that you mentioned is correct. Make sure you got the correct serial cable PCB133NSEC/STD.
