I have webjal downloaded but i cannot place ringtones on phone because they are in compressed zip folder and you have to have them in wav ringtones save type. But i cannot save as wav ringtone type. what do i do?

If you are connected to the phone and all is loading fine until the end and it bounces with a communication error then the file needs to be converted again. It is a bad file (not formatted to the proper setting to be a Nextel ringtone) and not connection, driver, or cable. You want the ringtone to be a wav file 8000hz 8bits and 1 channel (or mono).

If you want to use webjal it is best to configure according the instructions located at <http://pcs4lessllc.com/webjal_xp_instructions.htm>. This will create it so you don't have to have a connection to Iden Update for it to load. Make sure an follow the instructions perfectly or it will not work. You have to use WinZip, don't use any other archive program i.e. WinRar.

can someone please help me, i have a 1860 and iv uploaded many ring tones using webjal before. one day webjal suddenly asked me for a username and password unlike before when i use to just hit ok, iv tried reinstalling the program and patcher many times and iv even tried installing on another computer....please help

also when i install the webjal patcher, i always get "runtime error 53"

As far as the communication error make sure that the baud rate on your phone is correct and make sure that the usb box is check in prefrences of webjal. Also make sure the usb box is checked in prefrences. If the file is to large and not in the correct format you will get this error as well.
I had the same problem until I started downloading only the ringtones posted by other members.
As for cable issues unistall the driver software but instead of reinstalling it, just plug your phone in. Sometimes the OS will install the driver for you.
