Have you modded the phone seems at all? When i messed with the advanced network options i started having serious battery life issues. And the high output bluetooth transmitter in these phones is also known for eating batteries pretty quickly. I get three to four days from full charge to dead with the network settings unhacked and BT off. I don't have any bluetooth stuff so i can't tell you for sure how long you get, but ive seen people say a day or two tops with the bluetooth on.

I have already had my Razr unlocked at some store for only five bucks. I have also narrowed down the power issue; with the BT power off, my standby time is drastically improved. This is still quite dissapointing because like I said before, my sony T616 lasted for days even with the BT on.
High ouput BT or not, the way that this phone eats up power with the BT is ridiculous, especially for people who constantly use the phone with BT headsets and Handsfree link in their automobiles

I am so happy to see that I am not the only person experiencing battery problems with the Razr. I charge mine overnight and within 4 hours i get a low battery sound and within minutes the power's dead. I have talked to Cingular numerous times only to be told that since the problem started at week six that they can't help me in the store and that I must go through customer service, blah, blah, blah...
Anyway, today I called Motorola and told them about the problem and they are going to send me a new battery at no charge. I'm hoping that it solves the problem. I was also told at Cingular when I bought the Razr that it has a special battery that does NOT have a memory and therefore it doesn't have to be charged any certain way or that the battery doesn't need to totally discharge before recharging it.
I hope that the new battery will be the answer to my problem, but reading some of the posts here I fear that it won't be. I will post on here what happens and I would appreciate any help with this problem from those of you that have had the same problem and fixed it. I am a novice when it comes to cellphones and , gosh, some of the things you guys talk about on here kind of blow me away! I am really impressed!
So, if anyone has any help please feel free to e-mail me at -edited-
Thank!
Jeff

Hi, i have my phone for a month now, and recently, its been dying on me really quick! the same way how the original post described it. It is all stock and not unlocked. I called cingular and told them my problem and will probably do a phone exchange if it comes to that. The thing is they do not cover batteries under the warranty. wat if it is the battery? so i hope someone can verify if its the battery or not to save me the hassle of exchanging just the phone.
battery life in standby mode: less than 6-8 hrs.
resetted the initial setup menu to default
turned off headset in car mode
bluetooth off as well
I need your help. any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Hey Guys,
BT will definitely kill you battery with in 4-8 hours. I leave my BT headset and speakerphone turned off and just turn them on when I need them. This extends my battery life to several days.
When I first got MPT I was constantly connected to the phone with the BT adapter. I noticed that the battery would drain down really fast. Its still pretty bad with the BT accessories.
The RAZR batter is a lithium ion which does not develope a memory. LION batteries also last the longest when they're contantly run almost all the way down and then recharged. Constant paritial charges will shorten the life of any LION battery.
The directions I got with my RAZR stated that it only required a 2 hour initial charge. The phone has a smart charging circuit that stops the charge when the battery is full. If left connected the phone won't start to charge again until battery gets below a certain point.
Hope this helps,
Chris

yeah even though i turn bt off, it still drains as usual. theres only about 20-30 minute talk time before the fully charged battery dies. i tried to reset everything and yet its the same result.

Thats odd...if its under warranty of 1 year or w/e you should get it changed as that is supposed to be covered. Otherwise I'd say you might want to think about a new battery soon. Usually this problem is caused if improperly charged at first purchase. Your supposed to let it charge for x amount of hours when purchased then run the battery till the phone wont even power on anymore then after that fully charge again for x amount of hours the book says and then you can charge like you normally do. But thats the killer as everyone wants to play with it so it doesn't make it to the charger when you bring it home.

Hi,
I have the same problem, I even exchanged the battery and then the phone. I have TL with bluetooth and if you leave it on it kills it. What I did
I added a shortcut for "on" and "off" switches ex: "menu + 6" will turn it on and "menu+7" will turn it off.
I agree it sucks, you would think if they charge so much money for the phone and include BT they would think about the battery
