Well I want to make good bootscreens/goodbye screens, personally I like movie related stuff ...
well I found those films on a different sites, but most gifs were like 10 frames or something, so I used Ulead GIf Animator / paint to cut out 4 frames.
You can use Ulead GIf Animator to make gifs out of movies btw.
I would like to create a cool menu for the E710, but I need to be better at photoshop too I think..
right now friday I got an exam of penalty law, after that I will be back to modding
btw what exactly can be done with those replacing string things ?

string is for changing the text in your phone!
Like the tones for example. You can name them whatever you like!
On my old v200 I changed the text you see at the bottom of your screen, Menu and Phonebook to V200MODSQUAD. I loved it so much I did the same to my daughters v200 but used her name instead.
To do that though I needed to first change the text in the hex then search the text I added in DIY and change it again. hehe

Can you replace images with bigger images ? prolly not huh
and please, can you explain 'offsets' to me, how to use it and with what purpose, I dont fully understand it yet but I feel that if I know how to offset stuff it will be pretty handy.

Sure you can!
Just use the offset feature!.....hehe
I know! "How!!?"
Well what you need to do is to open the firmware "bin" in a hex editor and look for the empty space. the empty space is easy to find because it's the addresses with "FF" only.
Now you will have to remember that I also use this space for offsetting like for the Crystal Foldertones.
For them I used the addresses ea5850 to f09860.
So please don't use that space.
It would be smart of us to meet and discuss offsetting and maybe even map out tha firmware for future offsets.

I am making a site atm for the E710 and our mods :
http://home.tiscali.nl/bandits/index.html ; email me at ---edited-- so we can go through it on msn or something.
We should make a large database of E710 mods and eventually make our own firmware.
