Make sure the boldfaces are exactly as it is. Low caps, and high caps respectively. That is how mine settings are.
What error is it giving you?

heres the wap setting for v690:
- homepage > http://device:home
- Session mode > permanent
- Connection security > on
- Data bearer > GPRS > GPRS access point > wap.cingular
- IP address > 66.209.11.61
- Authentication > secure
- username (MUST BE ALL CAPS, PRESS AND HOLD THE LETTER SO IT WILL CHANGE TO CAPS) : WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
- password (ALL CAPS): CINGULAR1
im hoping u have the setting for MMS, or else heres the setting for MMS:
- homepage: http://mmsc.cingular.com
- NO connection security
- data bearer > GPRS > access point > wap.cingular
- same IP as above.
- authentication >normal
- same username/pass as above with CAPS.
after all, remember to go back to each profile and ACTIVATE them.

The codes needed for web can be found at
Alliance.CingularInteractive.com, it worked for my V690.

Help I am a newbie.. I have attempted on my v690 the instructions for getting connected to ther internet.. i updated both the browser setting (edited/created my own profile) and the MMS settings, but still get a connection failed/ fetch failed.
Is there anything that can be done to get connected to the internet or did a make a mistake in purchasing this phone??
