I know this isn't an mp3 file deleting question but I think it has to do with trying to delete locked files ...

I used P2K Commander v.1.3.4 to create some new skins in their own directories and they loaded fine, however after checking them out on the phone and not wanting some of them I deleted them using P2K Commander. I changed the attributes of all files unwanted to 0 and deleted the them...the folders were gone since no files were in there. After restarting and checking the phone, the unwated skins are still there...only now when selected they just load the options of the Moto skin.

1. Can any1 help with deleting the options?
2. Do I need to upgrade or change the flash and flex of the phone to get rid of em? If so, what is the latest flex/flash I can use?

Here is some info on my phone:
Unlocked V620 w/T-Mobile USA
S/W Ver: R376_G_0E.65.25R
Flex Ver: GSRV620T673DA070
DSP S/W Vers: 62212100
Language List: 0024

Thanks to any1 that can help! icon_smile.gif

Recreate the skin file, dont put anything in it, then delete the file and restart phone.

Yes you do
menu>settings>ringstyles>loud/soft detail>text message

menu>office tools>alarm>highlight alarm>menu>edit>alert

Dont have my V3 handy so I think those are the paths.

I am using MPT and I am able to remove the locked pictures off but I am having trouble in removing the .mp3 and .midi files off of my phone. If anyone could tell me how it is done that would be great.

thanks

Here is an easier way to delete the ringtones without much hassle.
1) Upload 1 mp3 rintone to your phone via MPT
2) Set ALL ringtones msg, alert etc, absolutely everything for all styles (obviously excl. silent & vibe) to the uploaded MP3
3) switch your phone off, then on again. This will update the .db files.
4) Using P2K, delete all the rintones, except for the MP3 that you uploaded, do not delete the .db files. Also, do not delete the .bas files as these are the base files for Motomixer. Set all reminders to OFF.
do not EVER delete a ringtone that is currently in use by the phone. If you delete it while it is active, You will NOT be able to get into that particular tone setting.
5) Switch your phone off, then on again.

Off you go.

FYI,I have motorola C550.

4. so what can I do if i actually DO delete the ringtone which is set active for ringing? I actually don't recall of deleting any locked ringtone, but now i cannot change settings for Loud/Soft Ring because it throws me out of the menu once i access the "ring detail" settings. I don't change ringtones much, but all of a sudden a got very annoying melody 'Amour' set for SMS (and i want just a short notice ring of any kind, but am unable to do so because of the problems described above).

Could the problem be solved if i just delete 'Amour' melody and restart the phone?

What does a master reset do? Does it delete all files that haven't been "factory uploaded" and reset all ringtones to the initially basic setings? (EDIT: ok for this one i read that it only resets your settings. but where is this master reset?)

Ok I tried the master reset in "Settings>Initial Settings>Master RESET" which cleared my all settings (ringtones settings ,colour settings, background settings, language settings, lightning settings and stuff like that), but it DOES NOT however delete your personal files (so your phonebook, your images&ringtones uploaded ARE NOT ERASED). After that the phone shuts down + starts up with initial reset settings. You then just change the settings back to what you wish.

The problem was solved for me,as I can now change the ring style to any i want.

I think that I have actually deleted a ring tune that was in use on my v3. A factory ring tone I might add. I tried a master reset but it didn't work. I just get thrown out of the menu. If anyone knows what to do please tell me!! Thanks.

i try this way, but it doesnt work.
go to camera, choose menu
check space

and when i get there all i see is "etikett: telefon". dunno what etikett is in english, but its something like: "lable: phone".
