I have ordered my T610 today using o2 Online tariff.
I really interested in all the features that the T610 (which I have read about on this forum). From reading the posts of you guys, I'm guessing the best way to hook the T610 up to my PC and Laptop is by using Bluetooth.
I have seen the Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter at £35 at Amazon.co.uk. It is compatible woth the T610. I know I can get some cheaper, but it has a range of 100m- it is rather powerful! I know it uses bluetooth v1.1. This is the version I need, right?
So all I do is stick the dongle into my PC, install the stuff, and the T610 will recognise the PC, and then i can transfer all my MIDI's and JPGs to my phone?
If anyone has the Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter, I would like to know your opinions on it. And is bluetooth really necessary to realise the T610's potential?
Cheers in advance

i'm looking at the same thing - but 100m is rather unnecessary.
May I advise you take a look at maplin.co.uk
This bluetooth dongle is only 30.
I did order the Belkin one of amazon, but they still hadn't dispatched it after a week so I sent them a complaint and canceled.
I'm looking into the one at Maplin now.
(I'm not saying amazon are crap, they are usually good... but on this occasion I was dissapointed with them)

I gotta tell you, my Belkin Bluetooth sure isn't working for me. I get it to work sometimes and not others. So far, it works about 10% of the time. Very frustrating. I just orderded a USB cable and stand for it. Most of what I do is synchronize with my Outlook and I hear it is OK for that.
If anyone knows how to get the Belkin working reliably, please let me know.

i bought it - got it in the post today. The exact one is the Belkin Bluetooth Adapter - 10m range. A little black thing with a flashing blue light. Works 100% of the time. Was a bit awkward to set up, as i cocked it up the first time. After that it's all gone really well and everything works - my PC being used as a headset, file transfer, synchronisation - i've only had it for a few hours as well!
Let's hope it stays like this!!!
I'm quite computer literate so i found problem solving with this thing easy, and getting it going - if you are less IT literate you may find it harder and think it is broke when it isn;t. Anyhow guys - good luck! You can buy it for £25 at ebuyer.com (i am in NO WAY AFFILIATED with them, other than being a customer.)

humm, everyone seems to have had trouble sort of with the belkin dongle, might that be because there are two available, one which has the aerial, and one which is the shorter range model (10m) 'with the blue flashy light'
i have recently purchased the 10m range dongle, and have found it to be surprisingly easy to set up and use, but, as the documentation provided in box was not really all that good i did have to set it up using guesswork, but it only took about ten minutes to get it configured, also at under 30 quid i thought it was a bargain.
just my thoughts on the subject.

We're talking of a 2-way connection here, so you may have an antenna telescope with a walkie-talkie, and you still only have 100m range for eg. The T610 has a 10m version of bluetooth, so buying a 100m dongle may cause some compatibility problems, plus you can't use yor 100m range. Anyway, why is 100m a must? You want to access yor PC via mobile from around the corner or what? It actually gives a larger surface on when (creative) people can hack into yor PC. Good luck.

yeah, thats what i thought when i was costing up and deciding on which dongle to buy, even though you have to set passwords before you allow a bluetooth device to connect with either your phone or pc (or other device) how hard would it be to hack into either device? maybe i'm too paranoid, but i reckon the shorter the range, the less chance of someone connecting to your device and screwing it up. anyhoo, its all working still, which is good!

It'll be a LOT easier if you use windows xp as well. Windows xp usually treats things like this as an extra disk drive and will recognise when your phone is nearby automatically. It does with IrDa anyway.
