I live in the Bay Area, and have talked to friends who are experiencing problems with dropped calls. Apparently, if the phone is not powered down for 10 minutes or so every 3 days, it will start dropping calls.
I haven't experienced the problem, since I just bought this phone. But I'm debating whether I should take it back to Cingular. Is there a known firmware update to fix the problem? Should I expect a fix in the future?

As for as I know, there is no known firmware for the V551. It is your call if you want to take it back to Cingular. Have you thought about the insurance option??

I can't say if it will or will not work.
I don't recongize that file. From the looks of it, it seems to be a branded flash which in rportillo case won't help him with his RF problem.

that firmware version is an older one... u need 17.25r... actually i need the program and flashing files too... i have somewhat of the same problem
