just wondering if its possible to hack into the core program script of a fone to change the background colours and text colours of the phone...can that even be done?? maybe via computer?? haha!

cause i reather have white words on standby mode as ik more often use a darker background than a white background and darker menu backgrounds may look better...

if only if it were that easy! what mobile do you have? if you have a symbian based one, you could try creating your own themes. but me thinks you would need to download stuff from the nokia forum or whatever it is called. not sure how easy it would be to get the effect you desire though.

Theoretically it is possible.

On older Nokia phone people did hack the firmware (but only of some few phones) and changed the icons, fonts, etc.

On newer phones, I guess, it is alot more complecated.

i heard that when nokia build the firmware image, the image file is actually encrpypted. so just taking an image file and trying to hack it is quite difficult. you probably screw up some crc's or something like that which would kill the phone. you would need to completely rebuild the software if that is the case. also means that the phone is doing work in decrypting the software... at least that what i heard about s40 phones. not sure how it is with s60 and s90. all seems weird to me...
