Hey,
I also got an ordinary datacable and i have sponsored the link where you can find the 2 programs for it.
Well here it is FairMedal
Go there to softwhere and download Mobile Phone Monitor and Sendfile.
Install first Mobile Phone Monitor, then Sendfile.
Go to Start > Settings > Configuration > Options Phone Monitor.
Install there your com ports to reservered.
And things will be OK with Sendfile!

i've found unofficial (but working) software to connect a T310 and PC via RS232 cable DRS-11.
http://www.mobileaction.com.tw/Cable/Phmgr/MA-T300-T310.zip
http://www.matweb-tw4.com.tw/ModemSetup/ModemSetup.zip
i also recommend you to download modem scripts from SE global support website (http://www.sonyericsson.com).

i've succesfully connected my phone to my pc,
but still only can send files to the phone.
i've done the following things:
i've downloaded and installed MyPictures from:
http://clubsonyericsson.com/en/software_windows.htm
MyPictures installs Mobile Phone Monitor too, so you don't
have to care about that. (rebooting the system is necessary)
start the program and select Send file to phone from File menu.
a dialog box will appear, and it will start to search for the
connected phone. if no phone is found, it will bring up the
connection wizard where you have to specify the name for
your device and sim card.the Send file dialog box will notify
you if the phone is found and connected.
while connected you can even use SendFile from
Christersson.org too!
this method works sucessfully with my T310. the only thing i haven't
figured out yet, is how one can download files FROM the phone to the computer.
+kiri.
p.s.: sorry for the 'flood', but i've just bought my cable yesterday,
and i'm very excited :PP

Yep, coz data cable can't send stuff from mobile to PC, that's the actual problem with it. Otherwise it can be an even faster solution than IrDA...

I've made the same mistake as many of us did. I bought a data cable! And it is SLOOW, it can only send files To phone and not the other way around...
You know, it's C-R-A-P!
So I bought IR.
It's heaven.
So take my advice-if you haven't got any piece of hardware for transfering buy an IR!
Do not by DC's!
