I need to know if 128MB is the max mmc chip you can get for the nokia 6620, i was under the impression that i could upgrade to a 1gb, but not sure if that is correct or not. Any help would be awesome.

Nokia only says what the phone has this limit because it is the max. size of the cards they sale.
Theoretically the new 2 GB MMCs should work.
But depends on the manufactur. Not all manufacturers are compatible.
There is a list about which cards work on the 6230, all these cards should work on the 6620 too.

i found this on a site:
1GB RS-MMC, SANDISK SDMRJ-1024R
Slot compatibility: RS-MMC, MMC when used with an extender
Voltage operation: 3v*
Size: 18 mm x 24 mm x 1.4 mm
5-year limited warranty
*SanDisk RS-MMC does not support low voltage phones like the Nokia 6630, 6680, 6681, 6682
I noticed that the nokia MMC's are dual voltage 1.8/3V. but i have not been able to find out whether the 6620 gives it's MMC slot 1.8V or 3V. is that the limiting factor that can prevent some MMC's from working in the phone? I saw a few 512MB MMC's that were dual voltage should i go with that or just get the 1GB MMC with the 3V power?

The 6620 uses MMCs with 3V.
All "normal" size MMCs are 3V.
RS-MMCs have 3V
RS-DV-MMCs have 1.8V/3V (only newer phone which only accept R-DVS-MMCs uses these cards with 1.8V, all other phones use them with 3V)
