Hi there. Please accept my appologies if this has been done to death already.
I've had my T610 on Orange for 10 days now and I generally love it. However, it has crashed/frozen/restarted 4 times in those 10 days. One time I had to remove the battery to get it going again. My question is whether this is normal for this phone; I appreciate that it's a complex piece of new technology so maybe there are still some bugs flying around. I'd like some feedback as I only have a couple more days left to get a new replacement. OTOH, I don't want to go to the bother of a new phone if this behaviour is common; do other users suffer these problems?
TIA,
F.

as with all hitech phone, bugs do exists but on a set to set basis, if u are unlucky u will get a set with lots of problem. my t610 works fine and it had only froze once when i was playing the games. thats about it! if your problem persist , better to send it back and get a new one and pray for the better.

I have had the same problem with my T610, but it's only when the network is busy... I have done some research and I've seen a lot of people who had this problem, but it was fixed when they upgraded the firmware...
I'll upgrade the firmware in a week or two, we'll see if it's better after that...

The new one is called R1L... Fixes a lot of bugs and makes the phone a little faster...
Here's a little list with updates:
- The standby clock comes with new font but still is hard to see the clock.
- Network signal has darker color
- The menu system works better and faster
- No more lagging with the polyphonic + picture (when you received call)
- Added 1 language (Bahasa Malaysia)
- *.gif (screensavers) look smoother
and more

Thanks so much for the feedback. All in all I think I'll keep the phone I have, especially as it hasn't phone/crashed in the last few days. I would feel foolish if I did the exchange and the new one behaved in the same way. As I originally thought a phone this complex is bound to have a few odd problems.
As it happens my firmware version is: R1A081, I'll upgrade in due course.
BTW, is it just me or has anyone else noticed that in the "Calls" list, some items aren't displayed in correct date/time order; especially missed calls appear to be demoted on occasions.
Anyway, thanks again for the help; even it is does crash from time to time I still think the T610 is the phone of the moment.
Regards,
F.

Just go to a SE service center and they fix it for you. Doesn't cost anything if you have your guarantee.

Fly, I received a call from the Orange Executive office last week, after complaining about upgrade problems.
I have the same calls list problem aswell.
They said the normal Orange insurance should cover any phone problems. However, firmware upgrades were a different issue. They wouldn't say anymore about whether I would be able to upgrade the firmware over the first year, under SE warranty.
Their excuse was the customised (?) Orange software in the T610!
